THE IDEA

Greyspace is a digital development agency that wanted to focus on how technology fills in the gaps. The empty spaces of everything we do. The grey matter. They were in need of a branding identity that communicated this idea.

The goal was a brand that related the power of technology and it’s increasing, often invisible role in society. I developed their brand and logo with these themes in mind.

THE PROCESS

The approach was a fluid one. Exploring ideas of philosophy and architecture, space and negative space, research was done in depth. The mind later came back to technology and the exact language of the name to inspire the final logo. It uses the keys on a keyboard to intersect the ideas of technology and space.

THE BRAINSTORM

The conception of the logo came about in a manner of play. Exploring different ideas, orientations, and inspirations. Eventually the idea of the keyboard and more specifically the space became the core of the design influence.

As you can see below, the iterations of the design, slowly formed into a final mark that fully embodied the ideals of the client.
